چکیده

Abstract Background The intimate relationship between coagulation and fibrinolysis in malignant tumors is a well-known phenomena, with the phenotype enhancing fibrinolysis. We hypothesized that soft tissue sarcoma (STS) affects expression of markers, which could be used to distinguish STS from benign tumors. analyzed correlations plasma levels D-dimer (DD), plasmin-α2 plasmin inhibitor complex (PIC), soluble fibrin (SF), thrombin-antithrombin III (TAT) elucidate whether these markers can predict STS. Methods Plasma DD, PIC, SF TAT primary (benign 67, 68) were measured before biopsy or treatment. marker compared various clinicopathological parameters. Results In malignancy (STS), average PIC significantly higher than Multivariate logistic analysis continuous variables indicated only exhibited significant difference (OR: 24.5, 95%CI: 3.55–170, p = 0.0012). Receiver operating characteristic curve produced area under values for DD: 0.691, PIC: 0.784, SF: 0.734 TAT: 0.588. Youden’s index was establish thresholds 0.37 0.80 0.90 (SF) 0.82 (TAT). Threshold high specificity (0.881, 0.791) positive predictive value (0.818, 0.745), respectively. highest accuracy among observed (0.704). Significant differences multivariate binary demonstrated by categorizing low groups based on their threshold, (≥0.80) 3.36, 1.19–9.43, 0.0212) (≥0.90) 2.63, 1.04–6.66, 0.0404) . Conclusions Of studied, increased related over most suitable prediction STS, which, along other diagnostic tools, represents helpful subsidiary tool

Frequency of Cytomegalovirus (CMV) in benign and malignant tumors

Cytomegalovirus (CMV) is a widespread pathogen that is found in milk, saliva, urine, cervical secretions, and semen fluid. It is supposed that CMV is a risk factor for breast cancer. The aim of this study was to determine the frequency of CMV among benign and malignant breast tumors. Paraffin embedded breast carcinoma (n=24) and fibroadenoma (n=24) samples were collected from Toos and Firoozgar...

Absence of Human Papillomavirus in Benign and Malignant Breast Tissue

Background & Objective: Malignant breast tumors, which are one of the most important deadly cancers in women, like many other cancers, are proposed to be related to viruses etiologically. Proper management of breast carcinoma necessitates an identification of the etiological factors. Human Papillomavirus is considered to have an etiological role in breast carcinoma. We...

MTA1 Expression in Benign and Malignant Salivary gland Tumors

Introduction: Salivary gland tumors (SGTs) are important parts of human neoplasms. The most common SGT is pleomorphic adenoma and the most common malignant SGTs are mucoepidermoid carcinoma and adenoid cystic carcinoma (ACC). Metastasis-associated genes 1 (MTA1), a member of the nucleosome remodeling and histone deacetylation complex, is one newly discovered gene which recruits histone deacetyl...

Neoangiogenesis in Benign and Malignant Salivary Gland Tumors

Introduction: There are few studies investigating the role of neoangiogenesis in biological behavior of salivary gland tumors. CD105 expression has demonstrated greater accuracy for detecting new vessel formation compared with other pan-endothelial molecules. This study aimed to assess and compare intratumoral Micro-Vessel Density (MVD) through using immunohistochemichal expression of CD105 bio...
